April 26 Update

Hello! I hope I see you tonight at the Spring Fling from 5 - 7 if you are able to attend! Should be a fun event!! A few updates:  End of Year Assessments:  We will begin end of year testing on April 29. For about 2 weeks, I will pull students individually to do the DIBELS assessment that they did in the fall and winter. These are individual, one-on-one assessments. Our whole class computer assessments will be on Wed, 5/1 at 9:45 am for the Math MAP and Thurs, 5/2 at 9:45 am for the Reading MAP.  As a reminder, these are to help guide instruction and are just 1 "moment in time" as a snapshot of your student's learning. Please simply support them by giving them a good night's sleep the night before and a good breakfast each morning on 5/1 and 5/2. That's it! : ) Thanks! April 19 Update

Hello! It's been a great, busy week! We are preparing for the chicks which will arrive next week! Excitement is in the air! If you haven't yet turned in your forms for the zoo field trip, please do so ASAP. Thanks! As always, please reach out with any questions! Thanks, Wendy We had fun this week with our first Teacher Time Raffle! It officially ended on Friday, and winners will be announced soon! Students are starting to explore taking their writing to a digital format through Wixie. As seen above and below, students are sharing their Wixie projects! On Thursday, we had a virtual field trip to a pig farm! Ask your child what they learned! We saw LOTS of pigs!

April 12 Update

Hello! A few fun things to note! The  Teacher Time Raffle  and  Donuts with Grown Ups are 2 FUN events coming up this next week! Please see below for the flyers for the important details of these 2 events! Call for Volunteers for Teacher Time Raffle Ticket Selling and for Donuts with Grown Ups:   We need volunteers to sell tickets during lunch periods the week of April 15th - 19th and also help out with our Donuts with Grown Ups event on April 17th & 18th. The 3rd book is coming home today with your students. A "quick check" of phonograms (ing, ank, ong, etc.) that we have been working on is coming home as well. April 5 Update

 Hello! I'm sending our update a day early to include information about our "Toy/Show and Tell Day" tomorrow that we earned! Students can bring in any 1 toy or other item that they want to play with and/or share and tell us about during our morning share time! Thank you to the 3 chaperones we have for the zoo field trip. I would LOVE to have 1 more at minimum or 2 more ideally if possible to keep group sizes at 3-4 students. Please let me know if you would like to chaperone! It will be a fun day, I promise!! The details for the zoo chaperone are as follows: - Date: Thursday, May 9th - Arrival Time: Chaperones will need to arrive at Hopewell by 9:30 am - Conclusion: Chaperones will be back at the school at the conclusion of the field trip by 2:30 pm - Price: $5 per chaperone (and will be $5 per student as well).
