Hello! I'm sending this update a day early to let you know that tomorrow (Friday) is movie/cuddle day for filling the gem jar this afternoon! We will watch a 30 min show, and students can bring a favorite stuffed animal and/or blanket to cuddle with during the movie. Whatever they bring must fit in their backpack : )  I hope you all have a restful and relaxing week off this upcoming week. We finished this quarter super strong this week with some amazing imaginative narratives, lots of geometry, map making and some cool science experiments. Pictures below! Thanks and have a great spring break, Wendy Here is our final map! LOTS of places to visit on this map : )  After completing the map, students picked a place to start, gave a few directions...and then you lift the flap to see if you ended up in the right place! Mrs. Doucher came in on Tues and Wed for some science focusing on push and pull And now for some air "push" of the racing balloons! Fun! 3D shape making with pol...

As always, let me know if you have any questions -  Thanks, Wendy We went out into the sunshine to work on our maps focus by making maps of our playground. Mrs. Doucher is taking some coursework to further her studies and, as part of that coursework, will be bringing a few science experiments into our classroom. YAY! This one shows colored dye separating with dishwasher detergent due to the water/sugars in the milk base! The start of our "city" map - we have it planned out - now for the creating! In math, our focus has been on 2D shapes, particularly noticing their attributes and classifying them based on their differences. This game is called "Last Shape In Wins" and is a favorite. I love to see their strategies starting to unfold as we play it! A...
