Sept 15 Update
Hello!
I'm sorry to say this week has been a first for me. I have never missed more than 2 days in a row when teaching, and I certain don't like it! Ugh! Thank you for your patience this week. I am so proud of the kids for their flexibility, and we will be sure to all celebrate their great behavior this week when I return on Monday!!
Last week, I sent my update on a Thursday and then took a few pictures on Friday, so I have a few pictures to share nonetheless!
Please have a great weekend and know that I am looking VERY forward to seeing the kiddos on Monday!
Thanks,
Wendy
Our big emphasis in reading this week has been that readers think when they are reading! We used "think marks" to mark the funny, exciting, confusing and favorite parts as we were reading to share our thinking at the end of independent reading time.
LOL - Funny Part!
Heart - Favorite part!
Here, we are sharing our think marks with our friends. This way, they can learn about other books in case they want to then read them. Plus, it's great to share our thinking and how we are interacting with the book as we are reading!!
It was beautiful on Friday afternoon, so we ended the day doing some of our phonics outside! The class had been wanting to test out the phonemic awareness part of phonics at a Level 4 voice outside. HA! It was so much fun! We were ALL THERE that day, so we took advantage of getting a class picture!
I love this group of students! Thank you so much for sharing them with me daily for some learning and fun!
